The Socialhousing Your Call road show is coming to Edinburgh, Friday 29th April 2016. Will I see you there? We are at Hanover Conference Centre, not far off Leith Walk ( 95 McDonald Road, Edinburgh, EH7 4NS - http://www.hanoverconference.scot/ ).

If you are interested in better customer self-service or what you think your housing service centre should be concentrating on, this free event is for you.

I chaired one of the events last autumn, in Doncaster and it was one of the most interesting sessions of the whole year. It brought together over a dozen customer service professionals from such a variety of organisations, grappling with everything from reduced budgets, to how to tackle the explosion of customers using social media to complain. That last one in its self was polarising. Particularly if your organisation insists that social media is the province of your comms' team. (Discuss!).

We discussed such a lot of areas of interest to customer service professions in social housing  and this event in Edinburgh on 29/04/2016, is expected to be as lively and diverse. Results from the recent 'Your Call Survey', responded to by 1,000 senior customer service professionals across the social housing sector, will be revealed, followed by a number of round table discussions. these will explore how customer services is being affected by the rise of Omni-channel and how social media is providing new challenges.

One big challenge is how we move to digital. Will our service centre shrink if we can persuade tenants to move online. Also how can we ensure our vulnerable and potentially digitally excluded customers are not left behind. How too in rural areas, particularly across Scotland, can poor or slow internet access be tackled, in our housing?

How we support our customers is changing too. Can we train or support our staff sufficiently, if in the service centre, or out mobile on our schemes, with the diverse issues we need to deal with?
